It’s finally here! The wait is over and we are opening registration for our inaugural Underwater Floral Workshop with a dream team of partners, including our favorite underwater photographer: Water Bear Photography. Kimber Greenwood, Owner of Water Bear Photography, has sold out every one of her underwater photography workshops, and it’s easy to see why. Kimber is recognized the world over for her underwater images and works exclusively with Ashley of Garden and Grace Florals for her large underwater set designs. Kimber will be joining the workshop sharing her photography and underwater safety knowledge as well!

Additional FAQ’s

Where Should I Stay?

The pool and studio where the workshop will take place is located 10 minutes West of NW Gainesville, Florida. Gainesville has an array of excellent hotels, and Airbnb rentals. The closest accommodations to the studio is the Best Western Gateway Grand off NW 39th Avenue. There are also several nice hotels at the Newberry Road and Archer Road exits off I-75.

Do I Need To Be Able To Swim?

While not all of our training will be conducted in a pool, it is required that all workshop attendees be able to swim. Due to the nature and inherent dangers of underwater set and floral design, you need to be able to confidently swim in the event of emergencies – especially when working with clients.

What Should I Bring?

We recommend you bring the following: towels, underwater masks, swimsuits, dry clothes, any necessary medications, notepads and pens, and a positive attitude!

What Airport Should I Fly Into?

Gainesville Regional Airport does have direct flights from many major cities, including: Atlanta, Miami, Charlotte, and Dallas. The airport is across town about 30 minutes from the studio. There are several major airports that are also an option. Jacksonville is about 1.5 hours away, white Orlando and Tampa are both 2 hours away from the studio.

What Experience Is Required?

Having knowledge of basic floral design is important is ideal for transitioning that knowledge to an underwater environment. You do not need any experience working underwater previously, but you should be comfortable in water enough to handle and move floral set pieces while underwater.

Where Is The Workshop Being Held?

The Water Workshop will be held at Water Bear Studios located at 330 NW 170th St. Newberry, Florida. The studio is 10 minutes West of I-75 on the West side of Gainesville, Florida.
